Savage Model 99F Year of Manufacture

Recently picked up a model 99F 300 Savage,Top Tang Safety Factory Drilled for scope mounts Serial # 1106346 in really nice condition, can anyone tell me what year it was made?

No letter in front of the Serial #

See the link I posted, at the bottom there is a lever boss letter code tgat will tell the exact year. I believe savage did not use serials until 1968.

Savage did use serial numbers from the very beginning, but check the front of the lever boss--the part hanging down that the lever attaches to, and it should have two numbers followed by a letter. Let us know what the letter is and should be able to pin down the year of manufacture for you.
