model 10 law enforcement .308

hi, i am to the forum and have a couple of ???s. i recently got a model 10 .308 20'' bull barrel and digital camo stock, has anybody else played with these? are these just paper punchers? my intentions were for hunting moose but here in Alaska ,but i think this weapon might fall into a different kind of shooting . i will be adding a nikon 3x9x40 scope today when i pick up another rifle from a gun smith. this is my first savage and just wanting to get a heads up on things. thanks

The gun you have is the 10 precision carbine. Do a search, the gun has been covered. I also did a review on the gun, but the review are only accessible to the paid members. I would say that gun would make more of a hunting rifle than a paper puncher.

I have one as well and it's a great hunting rifle, works fine on deer, elk or black bear. blue

It should be just fine hunting.

If you reload try 165/168 bullets. For moose Nosler partition bullets.
