    question about reloader 10x

Does anyone have a recipe for a 308 -110 grain bullet using reloader 10X?

    http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/default.aspx

They do not list RL10X on their reloading info for a 110 gr in 308 caliber. Probably too fast.

    Re: question about reloader 10x

I have Reloder 10X I tried for lighter bullets in 338 Federal, but have never shot really light bullets in 308 like the 110gr (I've only used 147gr and above bullets in 308). Quickload program shows that Reloder 12 and 10X would both work very well for the 110gr bullet. They would be in the small group of optimal powders for that bullet range in 308.

In Quickload, max SAAMI chamber pressure of 60191 psi would occur with a COAL of 2.700" and a 110gr HP bullet, at 47.4gr of Reloder 10X and give an estimated 3380 fps in a 24" barrel. It shows a 99.2% powder fill and 100% barrel burn for the 24" barrel. A 20" barrel would also have 100% burn in the barrel and give an estimated 3253 fps.

You should use a starting point with Reloder 10X of about 42.7gr, and work up. (estimated 3099fps/24", 2967fps/20" at start load).

Reloder 12 with 24" barrel, 110gr bullet has a max load at 52.1gr, at 100.9% fill for 2.700" COAL, with an estimated 3361 fps. With a 20" barrel using Reloder 12, max load of 52.1gr is an estimated 3230 fps.

Starting point for loads using Reloder 12 would be about 47.0 gr. (estimated 3059fps/24", 2927fps/20" at start load).

    Re: question about reloader 10x

I ran it through QL too and I got a max of 45.5 gr of 10x, 110 gr vmax, 2.71 col, 60k psi.
Start 10% lower and work up. should get about 3300 fps or so.

I shoot reduced loads with 110 vmax over H4895 in 308 and 30-06.

You have to buy quickload. It costs about $150 or so.
