I recently bought a model 11 in .308 that I worked up some hand loads for, specifically for deer season. Once deer season is over, I'd like to try my hand at "building" a range gun in 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55 Swede or .260.

For the 6.5 Creedmoor and .260, I can use my action and just rebarrel what I have, but I think for the 6.5x55 Swede, I'd need a long action. The other day, I found a used Stevens 30-06 that I think I can get for $300. If I rebarrel that to 6.5x55, I figure I'll have to put about $700 total in the build, and I'll still have a 30-06 barrel if I ever need it.

Or for about half that price, I can rebarrel my 11 to either 6.5 Creedmoor or .260.

What would you do, and why?
