try calling him, look at his contact information on the Northland section.
as much as we all use email, it is not as reliable as we would like to think - blame that on all the spam/junk filters we all have to use.
Go to Customer Feedback section and click on the Jim Briggs @ Northland thread.
To answer the other part of your question. Yes, you can trust him. He is as honest a man I have ever met.
None finer than Jim IMO. He is the salt of the Earth. Would not buy a Shilen barrel from anyone else, regardless of price or a Savage action for that matter. Jim is not the best about answering emails. I just don't understand why people are so reluctant to pick up a telephone and call someone these days. Call him. He will talk your leg off too :)Originally Posted by Waskawood
He answered my emails last week very quickly, one on a Sunday night.
as others have already said, Jim is as honest as they come.
I would try to send him a pm here on the site also, as well as call him.

I tried emailing Jim myself once or twice during the course of a couple weeks, never got through. I finally broke down and called him when I had an chance during a reasonable hour. He told me he gets swamped with emails and sometimes it takes longer then he would like to answer all of them. However, I ended up on the phone with him three times that day and only didn't get through to him once when I was finalizing my order after straightening out some paperwork with my ffl. He's a great guy to deal with, I wish everyone I dealt with was as passionate about what they do as Jim was. Don't worry about emailing him, just give him a call and he'll take care of you.

Thanks!
I emailed him a while ago and never heard back.
I ordered a barell and wrench, lug from him this spring, The barrel was on order, not in stock.
Jim took quite a while telling me proper headpsacing technique, where the best price on an action wrench was and so on. I was impressed.
6 weeks he figured.
Well that came and went, but I waited patiently... watching the inventory list.... no changes, Shilens not shipping as many barrels as we are ordering (well they will)
Anyway last week Jim called and left a long message on the order (should be in this week)
I'd guess that he's a personal contact guy, email is kind of clinical you know.
I just wish he ran the shop in my area.
Life is short, make every shot count.
Call him! He gets swamped with emails and I seriously believe that he hates email contact :)Originally Posted by efw
