    Which 20 moa rail

I'm trying to build a list of 20 moa rails available for the savage actions. What rails are available, what rail do you like, and why?

Have an EGW LA/FB for the money it is hard to beat. Durable ect. Am going to try Ken Farrell next time. Reason I want to go pinned and steel will be better suited to it.

EGW has become my go to for bases. I have 4 of their 0 MOA bases and 2 20 MOA bases.

    Hi Everyone,
I just purchased a Savage LRP in 6.5 Creedmoor and I'm currently looking for mounting options. I have already sourced a scope 'Vortex PST 6x24x50' and need to see what would be best for a scope base and rings that will allow me to shoot 100-1000 yards if at all possible with a single setup on the mount and rings. I have my eye on the Nightforce 20 moa rail but I'm not 100% committed to the rail and open to different options. Any insight would be great. Thanks!

I went with EGW 20 MOA rail and Vortex precision low rings for my 260 build.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

    Hi psharon97,
Thanks for the quick response. With your setup, are you able to zero at 100yards? Is yes - At what range do you max out?

    Thanks

I'm willing to bet with that vortex and a 20 MOA rail you will be able to get enough elevation to max out the potential of the 6.5 creed. I went with the same combo for the record. I used a Seekins 20 MOA base, Seekins low rings, and a 6x24x50 FFP PST.

KAdams, do you have a pic of your gun? I have the same scope and would like to see the barrel clearance with that setup.

    Which 20 moa rail

I do not have my scope in yet (been on order for like 4 months!) but if you look for vortex low rings with the viper PST you will find pics. That is a very popular combo.

Ooops! I have the .87 medium height for Seekins. I got confused ass the vortex rings mediums and lows are different heights then the Seekins (even thought they are made in the same place). So the .87 height should work and still have room for caps. I read that the lows will work as well though.

I have the opposite problem. I have the scope, waiting on the barrel and stock.

Yes I am able to zero at 100. I haven't had a chance to shoot beyond that yet. The Viper PST has 65MOA of elevation. Divide that in 2 and add 20MOA for the rail would yield ~52.5 for elevation. This is only an estimate, but you will need ~25moa to reach a grand.

Choose specs under the viper pst 6-24x50.

I've got 20 moa EGW bases on 3 guns (22-250, 308, 6.5CM) and a 60 moa Farrel base on my 338. No issues with any of them.

    Hey Guys,
Here is a quick update - I wound up going with a NightForce 20 MOA base and .87 Vortex Optics rings for my Vortex 6x24x50 on my Savage LRP. I am not sure what to think at this time but to get different rings as I am MOA maxed out on lowering to zero in at even 200 yards. If anyone is running this or similar I would love your feedback. At this point I'm still in the barrel break-in period but will need to figure out something in the near future.

    Thanks!

Interesting, What zero distance and what 338 may i ask?
My son has a 40 minit on a 338x378 with a Nightforce 8x32 nxs and he can zero at 100 yds, although right on the bottom.

I'm on a 40 MOA EGW base with a Razor Gen II HD on my Lapua, but the bell housing is sitting almost right on top of my hand guard. I'm able to zero at 100 yards with a little room to spare.
