    Torque ?

Need to know what to torque scope mounting rail and also scope rings, base and top pieces.

    Savage model 10T.

Do need to use blue loctite?

    Thanks

I don't know how tight to do rings. I just use the short end of an allen wrench finger tight (as tight as I can get them, turning with the short end so there's not too much torque / leverage applied). I use the long end of the wrench for heavy torque / leverage on the base screws. Unlike the rings, as long as they don't strip, it can't be too tight. I always use blue Loctite for all the screws for the base and rings.

If it's aluminum, I only go 15 in-lbs. Purple Loctite is better suited for small screws like those on scope rings and mounts, but blue will do if that's what you have. Blue is designed for fasteners 1/4" and up, whereas purple is for smaller screws.
