    Boyd Pro Varmit stock question

Will be acquiring a savage axis in .223 this weekend and would like to know what I need in addition to the stock to install the action?

Shouldn't need anything. Maybe a longer set of screws. Might ask if you can get a metal trigger guard as an option.

Boyds has a good price on metal trigger guards. It's usually best to get one when you order the stock.

I've never had problems with the factory action screws being too short, but I know at least a few other people have, especially the front action screw. If you plan on installing pillars, the factory screws will probably be fine.

+1 on the metal trigger guard. Comes with a plastic one. The front hole sits under the rear action bolt and with any amount of torque on the rear action bolt it will crack and break.
