Looks great! I'm currently waiting on a barrel for a short 308 from Jim. Can't want to get it together.

Waiting here also. I'll post pics hopefully in about 3 weeks. Hopes it looks as good as yours!

Thats a nice looking rifle. Did you nip part of the forend off on the stock or is that the way it came from choate?

Well mossy we must have ordered from Jim about the same time. I'm hoping 3-4 weeks on the one I have ordered from him.

The only modification to the stock is the Karsten cheek riser. The forend is as it came from the factory. This rife was built on the old Tactical SS long action with a short action cutout underneath and an extended bolt baffle to take up the slack on the long action bolt. That's why the barrel sticks out as far as it does.

Thanks pepper. The Choates are very good stocks for the money.

My barrel and borrowed gauges are both scheduled to arrive Saturday! I have some projects in the shop anyway but I have a feeling I'll be starring at the end of the driveway the whole time waiting for the mailman.

Nicely done. That looks really clean! Is that a factory BA bolt handle?

Mine, back when it was an 18"er. I have since shot that barrel out, and another, and it now sports a 20"er.

Dick's special Model 10 cut to 18" in HS Precision Stock with Specwar Brake and Specwar762. Glass is Bushnell DMR 3.5-21x50 in Seekins rings on EGW 20moa aluminum mount. Just shot a few sub moa groups at 100 yards and 500 yards using 175TMKs and 178Amax. I plan to take her out to 1000yrds next week. I'm still getting 2600fps with these despite the shorter barrel.
