Savage 1899 takedown front sight 1918 1919

I have a savage 1899 250 3000 takedown made between 1918-1919. The front blade sight is missing. Can anyone tell me what I need to be looking for? I understand they changed in the 20s.

Tough one, those are the pinned front sights correct?

I've heard of guys cutting a dime in half and using it with good results. Gotta get the height correct though.

Might be easier to add a tang sight to it and put a dovetail filler in the rear slot.

Ya it's pinned. I have one the same year, so I could make one. I just didn't want to remove the pin, it's peened. I might have to thank you for the response.
