This rifle was new and unfired when I received it in 2001. Made in 1942 in 303 British and lathered in cosmoline and the receiver is US Property marked. I now have well over 400 rounds down range from 100 to 600 yards. It has the original 1943 3.5X #32 MkII scope mounted.

Welcome to the forum. That is a very rare rifle in that sniper configuration. Savage made these specifically for the British army under the lend-lease program, using the Enfield design. These rifles were tested at the factory for accuracy, and only the most accurate of these rifles were elevated to sniper status. It is most likely a two groove barrel. There is tons of information on the net about the history of the Enfield rifle in general, the various companies that manufactured them, and all things Enfield. Congratulations on such a find.

Very nice! I got the best accuracy in my "T" loading the Sierra 174 grain match bullet pushing it at 2450 fps. It would group into an inch at 100 yards and a was MOA at 200 and beyond out to 400 yards, the limit of the distance I could shoot. I was using nickle plated brass and match primers.

I was extremely luck getting my "T", snagged it at a local LGS that didn't know what they had back in 2005. I got it for $250 OTD. Mine didn't have the scope on it but I snagged one on line and the mounts for a lot more than I paid for the rifle. I neck sized my brass after initial firing.
