    Left handed replacment stocks

I'm a lefty so finding a replacement stock is proving to be difficult and I am looking for some options or pointers. I have a late 90s model 111 in 270 Winchester it has a detachable magazine with the side button mag release. I would really like to replace the original wood stock with some sort of synthetic but have been coming up empty on possible solutions(I would prefer it to be a hunting style stock as well).

The second potential is I may just purchase a new model trophy hunter but I would also like to replace the factory stock( I have one in right hand for my wife and am not in love with the stock) does this open up my options. I would prefer not to have to modify the replacement(fill the right bolt port and create a left one)

Anyways thanks for any info or suggestions.

Depending on how much money you have, you could contact Lisa at SSS and have her build a stock. You could also convert to the AICS system and use AICS magazines.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Find a factory synthetic either left handed or right handed and install it or convert it.
A conversion is pretty simple. To convert a right handed synthetic I first clean the stock with denatured alcohol so the epoxy will stick. Then put duct tape inside the action channel of the stock at the bolt cutout to create something to hold epoxy in the bolt cutout Then after filling the bolt cutout with epoxy like JB weld put a piece of tape over it on the other side to hold the epoxy conforming to the stock. after the epoxy sets up and the bolt cutout is filled and solid remove the tape and file sand and shape it so that it blends in perfectly to the stock. Then put the action into the stock and mark where the bolt cutout needs to be on the left side and mark it. Then cut out the synthetic material for the left handed bolt with a file set or a dremel. Paint that puppy and you're done.

Here's one of my projects that was a right handed stock purchased from the classifieds here for a bargain. It has also been bedded, significantly shortened The paint is rustoleum camo paint in khaki and OD green applied with a sea sponge with testors dull coat on top to seal it up.

A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.

Like was just said, pretty easy to make it a lefty. Find the stock (wood/laminated or plactic) plug the right bolt handle cut and recut it on the left side. Easier if you can get one in a color that's easy to match.
I got a right hand BR style thumbhole and recut the slot on the left side. Black and Black laminated so it was pretty easy to color match. Blended a Magic Marker till it looks good then shot it with clear. You have to look real cloce to see the mod.

I'am right handed but I wanted to use my left hand action at the bench. Right hand stays in the thumbhole while the "free" left hand works the bolt and feeds ammo.

I modified an hs precision take off. I haven't filled the right side bolt relief yet, I don't really care about looks.

No one makes the stock you are looking for. I don't think anyone ever has. Most people who had those models at the time converted them to blind mag if they wanted an aftermarket stock.

I'm totally willing to convert it to blind mag but it doesn't seem like that opens my options or at least I can't find ones for blind mag either.

here is one from Boyds for the dbm with side button. it is left hand stock, right hand bolt. You would have to remove material for the left hand bolt and then fill the slot on the right side, but it would work:

here is walnut one for the left bolt, blind mag:

Since you have a long action, you can use a staggered feed or center feed blind mag stock from Boyds. I put a LH centerfeed thumbhole stock on my old staggered feed action that I built my 6.5-06 on. I had to lengthen the front of the magwell in the stock for the blind magazine box to fit. It will also depend if the bottom of your action has the slots for the magazine box to attach to on it.

IF you don't mind doing some wood working and your own finish, you may find what you need here. They have a pretty large selection and customization options.

Only problem with dealing with Richard's Micro Fit is when you get your stcok, it may/will take a lot of work to get a good fit and LOTS of work for a good finish. But don't let that scare you off. IMHO, thery're one of the better deals out there as far as cost and selection. I think I've had maybe 10 so far but that doesn't make me an expert. If you don't mind wood work, you can get yourself a real nice stock for the price.

You might be better off getting a right hand stock and recutting the bolt handle slot. Richard's doesn't know their left from their right. Ordered a lefty and got a stock with the action cut as a mirror image. The bolt release was cut on the left side! (HUH??) IIRC, I was able to off it pretty fast rather than send it back to So Cal. And trying to explane the situation was like talking to a rock. I still prefer my Richard's Micro Fit stocks over most others I've seen.
