    Model numbers/letters

Hi all. I have owned a savage 110fp in 308 and love it. Problem is I cannot handload for it in my apartment. I would like to get a "trainer" I guess you could call it. I would like to know what all the letters mean after the various model numbers. I am looking to buy a mark I or Mark II and would like a heavy barrel on it. I am left handed, but that really does not matter since I shoot my right-handed 110 just fine left handed. I dont want a right-handed thumbhole stock, so I what do the letters mean, (ex. Mark II BTVS???) Thanks.

    Re: Model numbers/letters

Savage use the same codes on all there guns first letter is the stocks, B= laminate wood G= hardwood F= plastic. The second in your example is for a thumb-hole stock. The third letter is for a varmint or heavy barrel. I don't know on the letter s I am guessing it is single shot, if it was stainless it would be a SS.
