A friend wants me to make some 6mm 284 cases for him from new 284 cases. My question do any of you make them and if you do do you use an intermediate die such as a 260 neck die,or just go from 284 to 6mm. Thanks for any help Gordon

I have a 260 AI Rem. neck sizing die I will use it in between the 7mm and the 6mm dies. Thanks for the info. it is really hard to find the 284 brass much less 6.5 284 around here.
you shouldn't have much problem getting them down to where they need to be. I have taken them down in one step but had some cases collapse, and they just don't turn out looking quite as nice. Good Luck

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
I think they will if not I have a set of 6.5-284 dies that will work. I use the 6.5-284 seating die to seat the bullets in my 260 AI.
you should be able to run them straight through your 6.5-284 die if you use some good case lube (not the aerosol stuff). Then from there through the 6mm
