    Opinions on the Savage 18890 12 F/TR .223

Want to shoot P-Dogs at 100 to 300 yards off bags.

Is it worth 4 times more than a Savage 19220 AXIS 223?

Probably not, but I'm sure the barrel is better. I have a take off barrel on an LRP action I put together for my nephew to shoot long range. Shot a 10 shot group you could cover with a dime after zeroing the scope at 100 yards with black hills reman 77 smk's. Put a better barrel on it and I'm sure it will shoot well especially if you're only shooting to 300. At 100 I'd use my .22 or .17 hmr, both will shoot 1 inch groups or less at 100.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
