    buying a new rifle

I m looking at both a 111 trophy hunter with 33-9 x 40 Nikon scope and a 11VT 4-12 x 40 Bushnell scope. I haven't decided yet as to either 223 or 308 cal, Which one would you guys choose between these two ? What advantages does one have over the other ? Dick's has them both for the same price 449.00

As always it boils down to intended use. For hunting large game (deer) I would go with the .308, for varmit I would select the .223.
If you are looking to punch paper then either one would work just fine. As always I'm just guessing here.

Just a thought, buy a bare rifle and save to purchase a higher quality scope base and rings.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
