I bought the 11VT Dick's Sporting Goods version rifle in 308 Win. I am new to Savage products and new to benchrest shooting. I have been reading threads on the 11VT and I consistently read that for the best accuracy, the scope, rings, bases and stock should be changed. I intend to change the rings and scope. I am hoping you can help with a few questions.
For the best accuracy from the bench -
1. What's wrong with the bases it came with ?
2. Can you recommend better bases ( picatinny type ) ?
3. Do I use bases designed for the Model 11 or which ?
4. What is wrong with the stock it came with ?
5. Can you recommend the best stock ?
6. Can you recommend the best "light weight" stock ?
7. Will I need to change other parts for the mentioned stocks ?
