    TrailBoss in the 38-55


    Is anyone here loading trailboss in a 38-55 win. ? I have some heavy Lyman bullets 285 gr and I wanted to try Trailboss if possiable. Would be use in a winchester 94 made in the 1970's

    I've used "donuts" in the 243, 7-08, '06, 45-70 and 38 spl.

    Modern Reloading 2nd Ed. only lists a 250gr lead bullet for Trail Boss with a 6.0gr starting load and 7.0gr Max. By nature it's near impossible to get enough (uncompressed) Trail Boss into any case to cause a high pressure issue. Bill's link above verifies that.
