220 Swift is one assume round. I am going to have a 1/9 22-50 factory New take off from my model 12

It is one of the fastest 22 caliber rounds 2nd only to the 223wssm and a few wildcats.

I would suggest a 22-250 AI though for brass life, and you could match standard 220 swift velocity with the 250 AI

I used to load for a swift, till the barrels were gone. Since then Savage quit chambering for them. All of the good take-off barrels got gobbled up by some speed crazed lefty who claimed he had bought everything and the "last" .220 Swift barrel Savage ever made.

I have one on an other rifle that's in 220 Swift, and I am going to have my other barrel done in 220 Swift AI just for the headspace and improved brass life plus I can shoot the heavy pills to boot.

Yes you can, and then some. It will really depend on what you are going to be using it for, target varmint or game. Then it will be what bullet weight you would like to use. I like to use Hornady 55 gr around 3500-3800 I look for the accuracy, so if it would fall in around 3600 with a very small group size, then I have found my load. Your looking to find the speed with accuracy come together, you will find where all they come together

I load regularly for a Swift, But I can approximate 220 Swift Velocities in my 9" twist Savage LRPV using H380 with WLRM primers and 53 Gr Vmax, (3840 fps no pressure signs). I use 4064 exclusively in my Swift and 50 gr Noslers or 50 Gr. Vmax. Personally I'm going to get rid of my swift after I've shot up my current loads because I can get close to those velocities in a 22-250.

Was hoping he might take up the calling, but...
I sure could have used at 1000 rounds of brass. 220 Swift is my best friend. That is my go to rifle.

I shoot .220 swift, factory 1/14 twist (rem 700 vssf) and very much enjoy it. Guys claiming to get the same velocities with 22-250? Impressive. I push mine, in cold weather, to 3900 fps with 52g smk's over 4064. (40 g vmaxs can go well over 4000 fps) When it gets hot, 90+, I slow them down a bit as shooting 5-10 times in succession I start to show some pressure signs. The inside of coyotes look like a grenade went off, I never have exit holes, and have never had to shoot one twice if hit in the body. I started loading them down a bit, 3650 fps to shoot competitions (that was the best accuracy node I could find under 3900) but still have my burner loads for hunting. Mine has over 2200 rounds through it and still holds very tight groups when I do my part. I have had to increase my coal a few times, but still am around 2.72". I use both rem r-p brass and frontier (hornady custom factory brass) and have 7-8 firings on almost all of the frontier brass. Hornady head stamped brass only made it 2-3 firings before I had to toss most of it, it just didn't like being pushed. I do have to trim after just about every firing, but that's more to keep it consistent. Seeing my barrel get old is kinda like watching a good dog get old. It hurts to know eventually I have to get rid of it, but I will always have the memories.
Used to use H414 in a 98 Mauser action for prairie dogs in Kansas. That lasted 1600-1700 rounds until the accuracy just wasn't there anymore; a real barrel-burner? I tried IMR 4831 but could never get decent accuracy after that so I went to a 25-06, which was better in the wind anyway...
But... That was a LONG time ago!
