I can't see the OCW test (unless you didn't put them up) nice rifle though. How does the evolution compare to the element? I recall you having the element also I think anyway.

Upon looking at the picture the buffer tube looks crazy bent but that might just be the picture.

I have a savage 110BA stock not the element...I have the check piece leaned forward at the front so just looks bent.

Look good to me but I have ZERO experience with precision rifle loading or the OCW test. I will begin that journey in a few months when I finish my build.

now after shooting the 4831 OCW I had 7rounds left...two lower charges of 4831 shot at the sighter target in the first post and 5 rounds with 41gs H4350....

now this tells me the barrel shoots best fouled.

that's it LOL....I pulled the last shots on the 42.5g 4350 load and the 45.5g 4831 load...this thing will be a hammer when I get more comfortable with the chassis and get it adjusted just right.

Im not going to play with this one much...only going to shoot the 140g bergers with 4350 or 4831...which ever shoots best...the only thing i might change is primers but i need to run the best loads over a chrony and see where the ESs are first...ive got 40 more pcs of brass to fire form then ill get down to business.

well I finished fire forming the last 40pcs of brass this morning and its looking like the H4831sc is once again going be the powder...ill play around a little more with the H4350 as ive got 17 or 18lbs of it and if it don't produce ill probable trade it off.

they were calling for rain by 930 this morning and for once they were right...started sprinkling at 915...I was packing up at 900...

    started about 725...

    this was about 905...

    this is 45.5g not 44.5g...

so it seems the the 140g berger hybrids like a big jump in this barrel because everything closer than .025 off the lands opened up.
I have the brass in the tumbler now and if its not raining tomorrow ill get out early and get a load dialed in then hopefully set up some targets and start getting some dopes.

I've never used anything, but the CCI 200's, but they've produced nothing but good results, so why switch? Or give them a try!

I bought 3000 fed match primers to see what all the fuss was about them...they are the most used large rifle primer there is and everyone raves about them....so far I'm not real impressed and I think they are so widely used because the CCI BR-2s are $50+ per 1k compared to $35per 1k...I normal use CCI BR-2s or the 200s...ive got 30 rounds loaded for one last test with the feds then I go to the BR-2s...I loaded 6 rounds with my match load for my shilen barrel to try...45.8gs H4831sc-BR-2-142gsmk-.030 off the lands...if this load shoots a 1/2" group ill ditch the bergers and the fed210s and go to what I know will work...good thing is the 210s will be real easy to get rid of.

on a side note...I cleaned the barrel...after 70 rounds there was no copper and only lite soot/carbon so I may have to go shoot a few 20 shot groups to get a little copper in the barrel...now if it will stop raining...I was planning on going out a couple of times today but I'm not sure that's going to happen now.

well I'm done...just needed a little more heat...

140g berger hybrid seated .030 off the lands
lapua brass necks turned to .0145 for a loaded neck size of .293..sized neck is .290
    42.9g H4350
    fed 210 match primer
10 shots 2886-2904....I know its a little hot so ill see how the brass holds up...the primers still have nice rounded edges

I was getting my 100yd zero here...the shot to the right was round 1...1/4moa left and round 2 is just left of 1...another 1/4moa left and round 3 is.in the green...put the caps back on and tightened every thing down and shot seven more rounds....

well to be honest...i might not be done...the berger hybrids are speed sensitive(at least in my barrel)they shoot great at 2680 or less or 2850 plus...i have a load that shoots fantastic at 2650 to 2670 but i doubt it will shoot well in the wind..the load above is pretty hot at 2886 to 2904 out of a 26" barrel and is accurate but im pretty sure its going to play hell with my brass so im going to shoot a couple of OCW tests with the 142g smks but first ill try switching primers with the bergers....i had 6 rounds left over from the last varmint match that i shoot in my shilen barrel(45.8g H4831sc 142g smk CCI BR-2) so i shot them in the bartlein barrel and they grouped just under 3/4"...ill be happy if i can get 2750 to 2800fps accurately and consistently out of this barrel but im not going to get that with the berger/fed210 combo....also the fed210s are eratic and are giving me higher ESs..the match load in my shilen barrel is a consistent 8 to 11fps ES.

ive played enough....am burnt out on testing and ive done enough of it to know what works with the 260...i wanted to give the bergers and the fed210Ms a try but they arent working so well together...i stopped using fed primers several years ago because of the incosistent ES's and the fed match primers are doing the same thing as the standard LRs.
im going to shoot 2 OCWs this sunday both with H4350 and BR-2s but one will be with 142gsmk and one with the bergers...im about 99% sure where im going to end up but we will see.

Hard to tell if the 4831 or the 4350 is best.

agreed...we will see sunday...the 4831 test all the charges grouped tighter compared to the 4350 but it was virgin brass...i have 2 firings on 55pcs and 1 firing on 45 pcs and it has always taken 2 firing to get the brass formed well...saturday im going to shoot a 600yd F-class match with the 42.9g H4350 load so i will have 2 firings on all the brass and 3 firings on some so if the primer pockets are still tight on the 3x fired brass and it scores well i may just continue shooting that load...i did shoot this load at 500yds on sunday and it grouped just under 1/2moa for 5 shots.
