    Action Screws

I know the action screws for the Savage are 1/4-28. Is there anywhere that will sell them? The Savage website sells the 1.5" is about $2 a piece + $4 shipping. Anywhere else where I could find some?
Only need one front action one, and $6 is a little on the steep side.

    Thanks

Every hardware store I have ever been in has had them, and they have a larger hex which is a bonus. You might have to trim them a bit no Biggie.

If they are to long, buy some hex nuts and screw a couple of them on to the bolt when you saw or grind them to the right length. If you have blemished the threads the nuts will restore them as you are taking them off. Easy as Pie

I hate the factory ones, if you do a lot of barrel swapping the hex part ends up rounding out.

Yes, I have looked in Lowe's and Home Depot and they don't have any. No ACE near where I am. I remember getting long ones that I cut the heads off to use as guides for bedding the stock, but no longer near where I purchased those.
May end up getting a dozen or son online and be done with it. No problems cutting them.
Is the hex button head not good enough for barrel swaps?

My Home Depot in Fort Worth had them in the drawers under the bulk package fasteners. Bought them long and cut off with a Dremel tool and cleaned up with a file.
