new to me 99c... fired her off today!

Had some old reloads on hand so I went to The Boneyard and fired off 8 rounds. The loads were too hot, as I had cratered primers, one primer blew a hole and the brass stuck in the chamber. Went home, dropped a cleaning rod down and removed the stuck case. Then I pulled the rest of the loads, measured the charge and found 44 gr of IMR 4831. Looked in the manual and saw the 44 gr load was for H4831, not IMR4831. 4 gr over max (stupid me, 40 years ago.) Reloaded with 38 gr IMR 4831, CCI 200 primers and the same pulled 100 gr bullets and went back to The Boneyard. She shot a 2" circle at 40 yards offhand, using the open truck door to steady my aim. Impressed me and I'm hard to impress! Think I'm going to love his rifle...
Can't wait to get her on a rest. Only problem is... I hate the scope that came on her, a Simmons Whitetail 3.5-10 50mm. Looks like the Hubble Telescope is mounted in her. Will look for a period scope for sure!

Try a nice steel tube Redfield low-pro, they match a 99C perfectly.
