    Critique the build sheet

Ok I THINK I have settled on a rifle build. Hopefully you guys will look through it and see if there is anything plain that I'm missing. This build will be used for long range training classes and possibly some tactical matches.

    6.5 creedmoore
    Savage Varmint action
    26" criterion barrel threaded
    Ross muzzle break
NSS recoil lug and barrel nut
    PTG bolt head
Egw or tps 20 moa base
    Vortex 6x24x50 ffp ebr-2c reticle
    Vortex precision matched low rings
    Vortex bubble level
    Xlr element chassis
    Alamo four star DLOC bipod
AICS 10 Rd magazine to start

Varmint or bull barrel opinions would be nice as well.

I would go 24in on the barrel if you plan to shoot tactical matches. With the Creedmoor case anything more is really seeing very limited benefits. Many are still getting 2750-2850fps with a 24" depending on the barrel. I went from a 27" to a 26" with my 243 and saw no change in velocity with the same load. I'll probably go with a 22-24" barrel in the future myself.

I have a Harris 6-9 set up with a QD lever mount I'm looking to sell. It's a Custom mount a buddy on mine makes keeps the pod real close to the rifle. PM me if interested.

I shoot a lot of tactical matches, if you want more info feel free to PM me.

IMO 26" barrel would be a good compromise for velocity and portability. I would also go with a varmint contour. I wouldn't get a muzzle for the rifle. I would thread the rifle if you plan on running a can on the gun. I run EGW bases on most of my rifles; I don't have a problem with them.
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Make sure the low rings allow scope to clear barrel.

Yea I am thinking that I will stick with the 26 varmit. Make it a little easier to move around.

Anyone have a Viper PST on a 20 moa rail? I have researched and I believe the .87 low rings will work.

Should be fine. I ran .95 rings with a gen1 Razor with plenty of clearance

I run the Vortex medium rings on a Nightforce 20 moa base with a Viper PST.

If you need me to I can measure it up for you tomorrow night, but I want to say the front bell clears my varmint profile 26" 308 Criterion by about 1/4".

    Edit:

    Pics worth a 1000 words...

Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50 SFP (the cheap one )
    Vortex medium rings
    Nightforce 20 MOA base
    Model 10 action - 308
    Criterion 26" Varmint

Barrel is .368 from bottom of bell on scope.

    Hope this helps you out.

From your pics it looks that the lows will work with just a little room.

I have 20 MOA EGW rail, Burris Tactical Low rings, and the same PST 6-24x50 and have no issues.

Im thinking you are correct. The mediums are .87", the lows are .82". I have a pretty high comb on my stock, so the mediums worked really well for me.
