Savage 110 owner in Monroe, Wa

Hello all, as the title says I am a new member of the forum with a Savage 110 in .30-06. I am looking towards handloading for it and possibly make some upgrades to do some long range shooting. I look forward to learning from you all. I am considering getting another rifle as well so that my son (6'1 and 210lbs) and I can spend many hours enjoying shooting together. I think I will make reasonable recoil loads with 125gr bullets that will mimic ballistics out to 300 yards of the bigger loads needed for longer ranges so that we can build repetitive trigger control. Then probably load up some serious loads for longer ranges. I am going to adjust the trigger. I think a new barrel and better scope is in the works as well. I thought about rechambering this rifle to a short action, but for the price, I figure I will just look for another rifle. Thanks.

Nice things about Savage rifles are they are user friendly. Changing barrels really couldn't much easier than it is. The problem tho.....is it gets addicting :D
