    Savage Rifle Weights

I am in the market for a carry rifle, a bolt 223. Recently had a chance to handle a Savage Precision carbine in 308 and a Savage Predator in 22-250. These rifles seem much heavier than the Savage website lists: 7.0 for the carbine and 7.25 lbs for the Predator. Can anyone provide the real weights of these rifles? I guess I should consider the Model 16 FCSS which is listed at 6.9 lbs, but I wonder if this weight is also inaccurate?
