    Savage99 from .300SAV to 338FED/358W

I have a Savage 99 .300SAV with rotary magasin. I like this gun and have shot a few moose and roedeer with it.
If I want to change it to 338FED or 358W, is it enought to change the rotary magasin and the barrel?
I want to use it on moose and want moore power. But I still want the possability to go back to original.

Good luck. Post for us who is a good smith for the 99s.

I found a fellow to lighten the trigger from 6# to about 3.5#.

Savage didn't open up the internal dimensions of the 99 until 1955 to accommodate the .308 family, to which the .338 Fed. and .358 Win. belong. If yours was made before this, it's not going to work.

Thank you. I have to take a search on the serialno again and see if I can find the age.
