    Model 110--Side release--7mm mag.

Need to know if a "side release" can be modified to a "blind feed". Can't find a replacement stock for a side release. Very nice rifle, but previous owner said the stock had been "split and repaired". I really don't want this thing to come un-wrapped when I touch it off. He has never shot it since repair. Suggestions!!!

Had one of the long action Weather Warriors in a side release. I had the same problem. I called Savage and they said that the standard long action magazine box would not work. So if you want a magazine box it will have to be modified. I just made a single action out of it.

factory used the same mag holder for blind feed, with an open bottom clip and a solid floor plate. Not sure if you could mod your clip.

Now that you reminded me I will go look for a stock for you at a semi local shop I for get about.

Swampcrawler if it is an older model then yes it can be done. I just converted a 243 to blind mag using standard stagger feed mag and follower. When you take it apart there is a magazine shell(for lack of better term) that is attached to the action. You need to take this off and then put the blind mag in it's place,it takes a little patience to do it.Once everything is in place just put the actioned barrel into a new stock and you are good to go.
Parts needed; magazine and a follower.
If it is a newer centerfeed then you will need the magazine the follower and the "L" bracket to hold in place.
If you search for a picture post of mine you will find a "applejack"(red/black) stocked rifle that used to be a side button released magazine and is now a blind mag.
All the parts are available from Savage 1 800 370-0708 or Midway and quite possibly SSS.

I can tell you where in the store to send a clerk if you want to talk to them about the stock.
