    Short action .308 choate stock

Hi guys, so i bought a Choate tactical short action stock and the blind mag inlet is too big. I remember seeing a thread about it a while ago and I can't find it. Can someone provide info on how to make it work or the ling for the thread? Thanks!

That's too bad. SF would be no big issue. CF you'll be shimming or bedding the mag in place.

Does it look like its been modified at all?

Both as in stock and action?

I just realized we talking about short action so it does matter. I was thinking long action for some reason.
Generally CF stocks are cut tight for mag box, spring/follower and L clip to fit tight.

I've read little pieces of wood on both sides or epoxy would work good. I've bedded CF mags in LA SF stocks before and it worked great. Just have to position it right. Not sure why the stock you purchased new would have issues. I've only had 1 Choate stock. It seemed of good quality but very bulky and heavy for my liking.

check the measurement of the screw holes, that should tell you right there. 4.27 is sf and 4.41 is cf. good luck.

That's the thing to do right there.

Have you bolted the action to the stock yet?

Also, the inlet for the mag is too big length-wise, not width...

Update: the inlet is only about 1/8" too long. Just enough so that the l-clip wont hond it in place... is this normal?
