For those still having trouble with the rebate calling is super easy. The problem i had was that cabelas put their own upc barcode over the one needed, but because it was on the receipt as well they pushed it through. Said i should receive it in less than 30 days and i was on the phone for less than 2 minutes. Hope this helps some people. Again the number is 800-998-8758

the process can go smoothly: i scanned what i am calling the 'savage end' of the carton. cabelas started using the opposite end for their stickers. sent the pdfs 11/11 evening. got the recvd request email 11/12 early am and the approved email 11/12 before noon. a little over 12 hours. maybe they'll go on sale again before 12/31...

    duh... 12/11 submitted, 12/12 approved...

I received the declined "did not contain an eligible UPC code" email too. Just called. Lady said that she'd run it through as an "exception" and that I should have my card in 4 weeks. Just checked my status and it now has the #1 "received" circle blue and dated 12/13 (today), with the #2 "approved" and #3 "mailed" circles white again.

I used a blow dryer and heated the top sticker up and it peeled right off. Hope this helps.

Odd, my .223 was shooting 5 shots under 1 inch with odds and ends .223 rounds I had for foulers. They were all my reloads, but just plinkers...is your scope tight?

Just got the news my rebate was accepted. I'll probably use it to buy something reloading related. Such is life.

Chavit, can you share with us the specs on the stock and which scope you have? It looks very similar to the Cabela's Instinct 6.5-20x I recently picked up.

^^^Who the heck knows? But $420 with $100 rebate is pretty dang good, if you ask me.

I doubt we'll ever see $320 with $100 rebate again.

If you really want those, I'd get them now. Just sayin'.

They usually have one around Father’s Day but this rebate ends 12/31/2017. Savage may have another rebate but who knows if and when that will be. Watch it daily between now and New Years.
Mine was $350 with tax before the rebate. I thought I would have a good deal if something happened and I didn’t get the rebate.

I bought mine online. What date of purchase did you use. Date of online or when I picked it up?

    Thanks

Use the date it was actually purchased. Ordered. I did mine online. Just scan every piece of paper you got during the transaction and the UPC sticker from the end of the carton. If Cabelas put a sticker on top of the UPC sticker, you can heat it with a blow dryer and it will pull right off. Then cut the carton to remove the UPC and scan it.

i used the date they charged my cc - which is i assume the date they shipped to the store. i rejected one mdl 12 purchased this way due to technical concerns, and even though the 4473 wasn't done, cabelas considered the sale had taken place. so, the pickup date is not the one to use, i reasoned. the request sailed through.

like joe says, scan everything and submit it... they know the drill

CDNN has the 12FV Varmint in 223 Rem for $389.99 ($100 rebate makes it $289.99)

And they have the same rifle with a DBM for $100 more

I keep telling my wife that guns are cheap as dirt...it's the ammo, stocks and glass that raise the price up ;-) Right now it's a race to the bottom and only those with deep pockets will survive. Get 'em while you can...

Stock is a bell and carlson medalist tactical. The scope is the cabelas instinct that was on clearance a short time ago. Basically a meopta meostar htr with cabelas branding.

That seems a little odd. The 12FV is or at least has been a Cabelas exclusive. I've seen them sold by both Bass Pro and another vendor (CTD maybe) for twice what Cabelas would typically have as a sale price. This led me to believe these other vendors would buy them from Cabelas at retail price and then mark them up 100%, which is typical for retail. I wonder if CDNN caught a deal on some unsold guns or if the 12FV is being released to other vendors.
