WOW, hard to keep up with all the discounts....I think I lost track about half way through :).
Do you collect coupons too??
I kinda did the same thing on black Friday sales...
With Cabelas sold & Savage for sale I hope Cabelas & Savage still do the 12FVs on sale. I buy 2 a year but did Great this year. Under $150 each. $319 on sale bought with $100 Cabelas gift cards bought on Ebay for $75ea, $100 rebate, Linked thru Active Junky for 6% of the total back. Then they did the Axis for $199/scoped with a $50 rebate bought with gift cards. All 3 in 6.5 CM this year, 308s the year before. Didn't like the Axis so kept the scope & mount & sold it for $250. Brownells closeb out Millett LRS 6-25x56 scopes which I paid $400 for 10 years ago & they're great scopes, 140 moa adjustment, ranging reticle, 35mm tube but comes with rings, caps & a sunshade. These are rated for 2000 or 3000gs & 50BMG. bought 7 & paid $159ea -7% Active Junky refund so about $150ea. So this winter I'll have 2 6.5CM & 2 308s to build up. Just looking for stocks, found 2 for $82.50 on Boyds Rapid closeouts.

I went nuts last year with all the black friday deals. Built a AR 9mm for under $350.00
HI. Has anyone put a lighter barrel on their 12fv so it's a little easier to carry on long hunts? I have one in .308 that I want to take elk hunting this year. I'm imaging many miles of walking. I'd like to know what my options are. I'm at about 12 lbs right now. Any advice would be appreciated.
Pat
LOL.... I've been reading threads on here for several years now, and this is the first time I've ever seen someone ask about going to a lighter sporter barrel... most guys just cut off several inches of their barrel to make it more carry friendly.
It's certainly an option, as swapping out a sporter barrel or a varmint barrel is the same process. if you're still using the factory stock, you may have to upgrade it, so the barrel channel will be more appropriately sized for the thin contour.
My 12fv 6.5cm Is the most accurate gun I have.....Which isn't saying much HAHA. I hope they go on a crazy good sale again.
It seems to like 168s...plain old factory GMM and SSTs. I am trying to work up some 175 TMK Sierras that both it and my Howa like.

Maybe I will just have it cut down. Thanks for the advise.
I have some used savage sporter barrels that I will trade for heavy barrels. I have... 223, 243, 30-06, 300 win mag
Hey, I appreciate the offer. I'd like to stick with 308 though. Thanks just the same.
I was originally going to build a 22 Creedmoor but decided to go with a 224 Valkyrie instead. I will still be doing a 22CM at some point as I have collected many parts for that build as well and really want to launch the 90-95s at 3000fps plus. Here are some pics of my latest Cabela's Savage 12FV conversion. In the meantime, the Valkyrie is proving to be a real sweet shooter!

I am wondering if this black Friday they will be offering a great 12FV sale again
Keep in mind that Bass Pro now owns Cabela's. You may never see those cards again. Or perhaps, be on the lookout for Bass Pro discounted cards as you can use them at Cabela's now. I'm curious if they will ever run that promo again now that BP has largely taken over all operations. I work part time at the gun counter at Cabela's and the changes coming down the pipe since the takeover have been more negative than positive. I'm wondering if they will continue to offer the different "Cabela's exclusive" guns like the 10T and the 12FV. Time will tell.
Yeah, I'm kinda waiting for a good sale or rebate on the FV12 as well, but not expecting it to happen.
I got a BPS flyer in the mail with a BPS/Cabelas exclusive on a Model 110 Tatical Hunter, 308 & 6.5CM at $499, originally $799. Anyone handled this model and thoughts??
It doesnt look like we will get rebates this year. Hopefully they still do the black friday sale on them.
Here's my 12FV in .308 Win.
I cut the barrel to 20", re-crowned it and put it in a home dipped accustock I had laying around.

I'm pretty happy with how it shoots.
Now to start on the .223
I saw that same flyer and it appears to be the same rifle that was out a couple of years ago, I'm guessing as a distributor exclusive, branded as the 10TR. There was a smokin deal on them at the time (mine was $400) but they only came in .308 with 20"or 24" barrels to my knowledge.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
I just got my Cabela's/Bass Pro Black Friday flyer in the mail today.
No Savage 10FV to be found. I'm bummed. Was really looking to pick up at least one.
There's a 22" Axis with 3-9x40 scope for the "Lowest price Ever!" of $299.97 - $60 Rebate = $239.97 on Black Friday 6 hour sale, 5-11am on the 23rd.
Also a Savage 110 Engage Hunter XP package for $529.97 - 10% rebate = $476.97. Looks like it's available in store and online Nov 21-25.
That's it for Savages. I didn't find much exciting during a quick look through the whole flyer.
I went back and saw a rebate tag on the 12FV at Bass Pro. Looks like there is a $60 rebate valid through December 2, 2018.

Cabela's also seems to have dropped the price of the 12FV in .204 Ruger to $335.99. So $275.99 after Rebate. 20% off gift cards could bring that down to $220.79. Actually, $208.79 because you get a $60 rebate on $60 x 80% = $48 net cost.
I might have to start playing around with .204 Ruger. Or get my first match grade barrel.
SVMgiftcards on eBay doesn't have a 15-20% off sale now on Cabela's cards, but Raise.com is selling BPS e-gift cards at 9.3% off and Cabela's at 7.2% off. You can take another 4% off (Max $10) with code SALUTE. That's almost 13% off the Bass Pro cards. $335.99 x 87.12% = $292.55 -$60 = $232.55 for the .204 Ruger.
Tax is not included in any calculations, but otherwise I THINK they are correct.
Hopefully some other calibers will go on sale before the 2nd of December.
Anyone see the black friday ad.... very disappointing. I really dont see any great deal this year on anything unless you need clothing.
