    6061 vs 7075 rail

I was looking at EGW website for a Savage 16 scope rail. There is a 6061 version and a 7075 version. Google says the 7075 is tougher so "maybe" it is better ?

The 7075 is $30 dearer than the 6061.

Since it is only a scope rail, my question is, does it matter? Has anyone experienced a scope rail getting broken, screw holes getting bigger/loose, or stripped sides especially with high caliber rifles?

    Thanks

Only if you think it matters. I've never noticed a difference personally.

I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

My thinking would be: if I'm not jumping out of a plane with the gun or at risk of dropping it down a mountainside, 6061 should be fine.
