    Anyone doing any brighter colored rifles?

    Hey guys, havent seen very many and figured Id see what you all had come up with. Thinkin about making a couple of my varmint rifles a little on the bright side.
    Will soon be building a 22br and was thinking cerakoting the barrel red and getting the red/black(applejack I think) boyds stock and leaving the action blued or cerakote black. Just trying to get some ideas.....
    Thanks!
    Scooter

    Scooter I am almost done with my 223 that is under my name to left. That stock had a daubed on camo job when I got it about 4 or so years ago. The finish was getting pretty rough so I decided to redo it. I painted it candy apple red and made an aluminum buttplate . When it is done I will post picture.

    Man, I just finished one for a friends wife and I failed to get a picture, but it turned out really nice. He had a model 11 that he decided to chamber in 6mmXC with a 26" Mcgowen Varmint contour barrel. I had a take off stock from a model 12V that we painted bright orange. We then added some silver webbing over the top and toned it down with about five coats of matte clear. I then duracoated the barrel and action a light grey that ended up matching the toned down silver perfectly. I was really skeptical of the color choices his wife was making but it tunred out really cool and definitely grew on you the more you looked at it. It sure turned som heads at the range too, but that could have been from the 2" groups at 760 yards that thing was shooting.

    Great, i kind of figured it was a bench in order to get a decent group like that lol.
    Im actually working on another one, its at the machine shop now.
    This one will be for standup shooting, and the top rotates 360 deg. like a lazy susan.

    That's no bench. It's a turret!

    I always figured I should be really good before I let my guns stand out like that. I paint them camo colors so no one notices them!

    [QUOTE=DrThunder88;330341]That's no bench. It's a turret!

    Can we agree it could actualy be both? Twist the knob one way its locked and a bench.
    Twist it the other way and its a bench that acts like a turret. And since it has only 3 legs
    we could also claim its a tripod. You will also raise and lower the front of the gun without
    removing your eye from the scope. Which means, you can follow a running animal across the hill
    or up or down the hill without ever losing site of it in the scope.

    Here is the pics he sent me. The lighting doesn't do the rifle justice.

    I have been eyeing the zombie colored Boyd's stock for my Axis. Current factory stock is painted OD green.
