10 fcp,s are known for their short freebore. All my model 10 s have limited free bore. Guess you'll have to ck your clearance with what ever pill you choose
Hello,
This my first post so I apologize if I screw up.
I just purchased a 2015 10FCP-SR .308 24in 1-10 twist. I am going to build up some hand loads for this. Here is my concern/question. Using the Hornady OAL and comparator w/ 168gr Amax, I have consistently come up with a 2.195 CBTO.......does that seem extremely short? My ultimate goal is to setup with the 175-185 Bergers and ping steel at 1000yrds but I have 500 Amax's just sitting around for the time being.
thanks again

Is it possible to lengthen a throat or does the throat length need to be set when the rifle is first chambered? I've seen there are tools to ream throats (too expensive for one job, I think) but is it something a gunsmith could do for a given projectile?
Yea Thunder thats what I am thinking I will have to end up doing to run the heavies in it. I have been told a smith can lengthen the throat, you just have to commit to shooting nothing but the heaver bullets if you go too far.
