Savage Model 11 Scout

Hey, y'all! I've been lurking for a bit, but I decided to come out of the shadows and post up my recent Scout purchase. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but this thing is SO much fun to shoot. It's a Model 11 Scout (.308) with a Nikon Force XR scope and some cheap-o sling I got at a gun show. I've definitely noticed a distinct lack of Scout posts, so here's mine to add to the archives :D

I'll be picking mine up in the next few days. Though in the tan variation. Excited for this one. It has a unique set of features most don't come with. After having it for a while do you have anymore insight? For now, I want to try the iron sights, though a red dot or scout scope is not out of the question depending on how I do with them.

Nice rifle. Just out of curiosity since I've never owned a Scout type rifle or pistol with a scope, how hard is it to get use to the forward mounted optics and what brand is it?
