    hunting rabbits

when alone, I use a 22mag rifle. when I kick one up it would run a short distance and stop, making a head shot easy.

...leaving everything but the cheek meet intact. Good Hunting.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Wouldn't that fall under the "good shooting category"?
I personally gave up on the offhand head shot attempts with a rim fire, even close ones.
The first grouse I ever shot at and got with my 22 mag was a resting hold head shot at about 50'.
About a half hour later I missed one 3 times at a closer distance by again aiming for the head.
It finally got disgusted with me and flew off.
Did you know the only part worth eating on a grouse is the breast?
