This is an early type but from our description it sounds like it's what you are looking for - "oblong hole at front end" -
Here are some more picture that have nothing to do with your question but were ready to post & in the same place -
Hello,
I'm restoring a 1903 with a broken second version firing pin (striker). This is the one with the oblong hole at the front end. I'm going to fabricate one out of stainless steel as a trial, and was wondering if anyone could provide me with the overall length of the pin? I can scale it from a couple of pictures I've found and can make it long, then file it down to fit. It would be quicker just to have the dimension, though.
Thanks in advance,
Eric

Hi SAV 22. Thanks for the info, it's exactly what I need. That's a nice example you've posted. Beautiful engraving, and stockwork.
Thanks,
Eric
