    Is it best... ?

When building varmint rigs, is it best to always go with two different barrels - one in a slow twist and one in a fast twist ?

For example, if you were building a prairie dog rig in 6 x 264, have one barrel with a 12-inch twist for 75 grain bullets and one barrel with a 6-inch twist for 115 grain bullets ?

Or would y'all compromise twist rates ?

Its all in how youre planning to use it. I would use 2 different rifles myself. Ive got a 22-250 (1-12 I think) I use it for 400+ yard shots. My 17 hornet I use for closer stuff....275-300yds. Im building a fast twist 6mm cartridge to really stretch out. I just prefer different cartridges, something different.
It would be simpler to go with 1 cartridge with an in-between twist. Personal preference would be what dictates that.

The only people who buy slow twist barrels are those who have never owned a fast twist barrel.
