    Chambering a barrel

When re-chambering for a Savage action, what is the measurement for the amount the case sticks out of the end of the barrel? Is it a "cast in stone" dimension or does it change with different actions.

The protrusion is based off measurements made on the action. Or the other way to do it would be to measure the protrusion of a similar chambered take off barrel.

Measure the depth of your bolt face, add a few thou. So the bolt face don't touch the back of your barrel when you headspace it. Nothin to it.
