    Pillar came out

I helped a friend bed this new build using a new VLP stock he got off of Northland. We were skim bedding the stock with Devcon. When we separate the stock from the action the front pillar pulled out. There was little if an glue or adhesive on the pillar. Never pulled one out before. Are the pillars just pressed in or do they normally have some adhesive on them?

    Thanks, Tim

The pillars in my Savage laminated stock are simply slipped into the wood, no glue whatsoever and are easily tapped out. If yours are used to actually retain the barrel in the stock, they'll need to be well anchored. Was the front screw also pulled out?

It was really a screw with a head. It was just a guide bolt with the head cut off used for bedding. I little of the devcon got on the bottom side of the pillar on the screw and holding it to the pillar. I can't believe these aren't glued in.

Just put a little epoxy or gorilla glue on it and slide it back in.
