You more than likely wouldn't even need the 20 minute rail to reach 1000 yards with that cartridge. Depending on bullet and velocity, you would probably only need 24-28 MOA or there abouts to reach 1000 yards with a 140gr bullet with a 100 yard zero. Not sure exactly what scope you have but a quick search shows the Leupold 8.5-25x50 having 87 MOA range of elevation adjustments. So if your cross hairs were perfectly centered in the range of adjustment at 100 yards you should be able to reach 1000 yards no problem. With the 20MOA rail installed you should be near the bottom of the scope adjustment range, within 8-10 MOA which would put you fairly well centered out at 1000 yards with plenty of room to shoot farther out if so desired. Are you going going to be doing a lot of dialing and shooting or simply zeroing at 1000 for paper punching purposes?
