    Eabco accuracy barrel review

I thought I'd try an Eabco barrel in 6BR,, it's an 8 twist throated for 100-107 grain bullets. The barrel is flawless,, looks real sharp and shoots like a laser. It is chrome molly and I did break it in by shooting 1,,clean, shoot 1 clean,, for about 5 rounds before copper stopped. I took it out today and shot 2, 3 shot groups in the .3's same POI and one 3 shot went .9" at 100, but all were different loads.

    105 Hornady BTHP B.C. .530
    Lapua brass
    Federal small rifle primer
29 gr. Varget .010 in lands 1x fired brass is awesome
28.5 gr. Varget .005 off lands in virgin brass is also awesome
28.7 gr. Varget .010 in lands virgin brass shot .9 something

    L.E. Wilson neck die
    .268 redding neck bushing
    L.E. Wilson standard seating die
The dies are fenominall,, able to run these chamber dies with no press at all,, just a plastic hammer for sizing and hand force for seating.

Barrel is mounted to a 110 action
    Stock is a bedded BVSS
    Rifle basics competition trigger
    Single shot follower tray
    ejector removed
    NXS 8-32 on top

All in all very satisfied for the price $ 259 for barrel,, barrel wrench and cleaning supplies.

i'm glad to hear that as i have been curious about their barrels and not hearing much on the forums. i was thinking about the 223 in 12 twist for the lighter bullets. thought that would be interesting to play with and at a great price!

    Thank you Mike21!

Notice I keep a cleaning patch stuffed right behind the chamber of the barrel that will absorb oil from cleaning so it doesn't make it down to the bedding. My new idea I had last night was to put tephlon tape on the threads of the front action screw so solvent can't find it's way down the threads.

I always keep a barrel clean,, clean after every outing. My bore guide is rather (cheap) though but note that the target in the middle picture was with a clean cold bore shot included.

I tried it once and it worked great,, I'm probably going to start using it more often.

The problem I have with it is that it won't go low enough for me to practice with it at my local range.

The local range has the target stands so low that your barrel is literally pointing down,, even though the berm is like 15-20 feet tall. If I raise my rear bag,, I'd need a booster seat at the bench.

The 3 different match's I shoot in the targets are elevated so I guess I'll just have to experiment with it during a match.

Thanks, I learned that EABCO is short for E. Aurthor Brown Company.

I read some where awhile ago that EABCO does not make their own barrels, that they are mfg. by E.R.Shaw . If that is true I have had several Shaw barrels that shot lights out as good as some of my target barrels.

Thanks,, I have a Shaw .308 Varmint barrel that could possible be my most accurate barrel.

Good new on this 6BR,, I shot 1000 yards today for the first time ever. I could see I missed to the right and down a little,, I shot a few more and it was consistant. I dialed up a little and left and hit right edge of target, (top of a steel 55 gallon drum I painted white) I adjusted left more and printed a 3 shot group of 7/8"! I shot about 10 more by that time I had about 16 rounds fired in 6 or 7 minutes. The total group was MOA. I'll post pic up soon.

It only took 29and3/4 MOA to get there,, bullet running 2820fps at altitude of 1200. Was easily able to get right back on target and see the hit's.
