    PTA Bolt head change

I'm looking at a used PTA with a 223 bolt face. The build I want to do would be for a standard bolt face. Does Savage sell a bolt face for the Target action? Any idea of toal cost to switch one or would I be better off just starting with a new action for the correct case head.

    Thanks for any help

Bolt heads are interchangeable across the entire platform of Savage centerfire rifle actions. There are some quirks, but pretty much whatever chambering you want to build, there's a bolt head available for most/all actions. There's more details on page 5 in the SAVAGE FAQ'S at the top of the page.

Mate as stated its no drama to change it out really, You can sift through the classifieds on here or get a PTG one if you don't get the right for from the donor action. Also, I have found the SSS fluted bolts just that bit smoother than the PTG version. Good luck
