    Just picked up this beauty.....

I'm going to drop it on my AR....I know it's not Savage related but I just wanted to share the news.

FYI: Bushnell has a $30 rebate program on AR Optics again.

I have two of the 4.5-18x40 and really like them. With 75 Hornady BTHP and 69 Sierra MK reloads sighted dead on at 100 yards, 200 is at the top of the first dot and 250 is at the bottom of the first dot on 18x. My only complaint is that the dots are BIG.

I recall someone having trouble mounting one of those Bushnell AR-series scopes as low as he wanted on his Axis because the knurling on the power ring interfered with the bolt handle. Still it looks nice!

I put one of these scopes on an AR that I built. The glass is decently clear, but after using it several times I'm disliking a lot of things about the scope. The turrets are very soft feeling when turned, and can easily be spun off your zero while carrying in the field. I've also noticed a glare ring on the outside edge of the glass on several occasions while hunting/target shooting. The eye piece of this scope is massive, and can be a pain to operate on low mounted scopes.

I recently bought a Primary Arms 4-14x44 FFP Mil-dot scope which is close to the same price range, and it blows the Bushnell scope away in every test I've performed between the two.
I rarely buy lower tier scopes, but I chose these two scopes to see if they would work good, and put up with some real world in the field wear and tear.I know the Primary Arms scope only has a 3 year warranty, but I think it will out last the Bushnell in the long run,and still perform to what I expect a scope to do.
