Congrats! How about a story to go with the picture. What caliber is your Contender? Andrew
The story is that I have been baiting for three years trying to get a bear. The first year, this little girl came in with her mom and brother and no other bears showed up so I didn't fill my tag. Last year, brother and sis showed up without mom but eluded me. That's ok though because they were still pretty small. This year, the two showed up again along with a couple of other bears. I wanted her sibling more but I spooked him off the site pretty bad and didn't think I'd see him again because the weather has not been cooperating so when this one showed up, I took the opportunity. She stood broadside at about 25 yards and the 180gr Hornady SSP smashed through both shoulders and dropped her like a sack of crap. She never moved. The bullet left the 35 Rem Contender at about 1900fps and I found it well expanded in the hide when I skinned her. She will make a great rug.
Beautiful! The 35 Rem is one of my favorite Contender rounds.
