    Trying to put Hog Hunter .308 into model 10 FCP accustock

    Hey guys, I received an accustock from a friend that he took off his model 10 FCP. I want to put my HH .308 action into that stock. It seems like it wants to drop in. There is a little bit of bedding I'm going to have to dremmel out I think. My question is. What is the difference between my recoil lug and the one that goes into the accustock if any? Also, I don't understand the different feeding mechanisms, the HH is a blind mag that is part if the original stock. And the accustock model was DBM. Here is a picture of the bottom of the action.
    Can I just order a .308 DBM from savage and use it or is there a stagger feed vs. center feed issue.
    Thanks for your time and help.

    The accustock recoil lug is narrower from side to side. You'll have to either install an accustock recoil lug or grind yours to fit. It won't fit without trimming.

    Thanks olds, do you know anything about the blind mag vs a box magazine?

    The magazine parts from your HH will work fine. It's CF.
    You will need the bottom plate.
    Your mag box and follower install onto the plate. You won't need the L clip anymore.
    All of those parts are the detachable mag.

    The part you need is: Mag Bottom, Short, Matte (DBM) p/n 106245 $19.00 from Savage Customer Service.

    Get the correct recoil lug rather than dremel out the aluminum stock.
    The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

    Thanks guys! Pretty excited to get my little project going. Savage parts department website says they are closed until July 13! Guess I'm gonna have to wait a while on Mag bottom metal. Anywhere else sell factory parts?

    If you are ditching the iron sights, changing the recoil lug won't matter. If you want to keep the iron sights you might want to modify the existing recoil lug.

    Huh?

    I dunno what "CF" means, but to me that looks like a pre-2015 FCP-SR stock (digital desert camo). Those took AI-pattern magazines, NOT Savage OEM mags.

    CF= Centerfeed 4.4 Action spacing.

    The picture displayed by OP shows factory bottom metal. The only part he'll need is the mag plate. The mag box and follower will be used from his HH (Hog Hunter) rifle. That will complete a factory Savage magazine.

    The bottom metal you choose will always determine the magazine reguardless of which rifle it is.
