Thinking of buying this model in 22LR and wanted to ask the forum for opinions. Thank you in advance. smoker

Thanks for your reply Kilroy. My club has a group that shoots rim fire rifle and I want to join with them but hesitate to get involved with the purchase price of some of the rifles I see. They shoot at 50 yards and I wonder if you have gotten serious with checking out the accuracy? smoker
Here is a target from the last time I went out. That was a five shot group and the target is at 51 yards. I was shooting CCI Mini Mags. My rifle seems to like Mini Mags the best

Kilroy, have you done anything to alter the original manufacture cause I'm sure to do the same. Any scope you can suggest for the rim fire target shooting? Sorry for all he questions but thanks. smoker
I too have a BTVLSS and it's a keeper. Two mods I recommend, heavy bottom metal, it's the piece on the bottom of the stock that the magazine goes through. I also recommend an Apachee trigger kit, got to rimfirecentral.com and check out the sponsor page, it's the first one listed. Dale is a great guy to deal with. I really like the Mueller line of scopes, the adjustable parallax will focus down to 6-8 yards.
10 shots at 50 yards.
Thank you for the picture. Have to be hard pressed to do much better than that. I will check out the places you recommended. Appreciate the info. Regards, smoker
Actually I put one of the Rhineland Arms Leopard stocks on mine along with the DIP heavy bottom metal. I am using the Nikon Prostaff 3-9 BDC rimfire scope. I changed the stock out because the factory stock didnot let me get a good cheek weld.
Very Happy with mine. Here is a link to my thread with mods and performance along with pics:

I love the 22lr and the 22mag, both are great IMO.
Good to hear positive opinions. Definitely will buy one.
I have a question concerning the scope base mounts......what are they? I can see they are there but are they a standard weaver? Do you guys think they are acceptable for this type of shooting or should I order a one piece type? Thanks in advance, Phil
I use the factory bases with weaver tactical 6 screw rings with no issues. If you're going to shoot long range you may want to look at some of the 10 or 20 moa one piece bases. My scopes are mil dot so I just use hold overs.
Thank you Justinp61. I have seen many pictures and they show base mounts but not clearly. Should have my rifle in a couple of weeks. Will be needing a scope so shopping continues.
Can you folks recommend a 1 piece base that won't break the bank for my MKbtvss. I find bases but none say they fit my model. Thanks, smoker
I have one of these and with ammunition it likes it shoots better then my Kimber 82G. I use A bushnell 7x18x50 scope it focuses under 50 feet and doesn't cost a lot.
Thanks tlf65. Been using Bushnell copes for years with excellent results. What scope base are you using and are you shooting @ 50 yards? smoker
Bit the bullet and ordered some stuff. Simmons Predator 4.5-18x44 side focus, Vortex 30mm rings (medium), and EGW one piece base, ( man at EGW said I should use '0' MOA because my max distance will be 50 yards). Rifle should be shipped from Buds tomorrow. Will have it shortened as soon as it arrives.....just put a new chain on my chain saw so cut should be smooth :). Do you folks suggest breaking in the barrel using the same process as center fire rifles? Done it a few times and it is time consuming but I feel it has made a difference.
