    Information on savage 110 222


    Hi all first time post on here grate site. So I'm looking at a savage 110 in 222 I'm wanting some info like its age if it's long action or short any info will be good thanks its serial number is E997805 stamp on barrel is SP 8 thanks agin for any information

    If it is a M-110, it is the long action, M-10 is short. Measure distance between stock screws, 5 inches is long action. Are you sure it is 222 and not 223? There is a chart on this site that will give you info on the SN.

    Hi its a 222 i think made around 1980 it on long action just want more information thanks for your help

    Savage never offered the .222 Rem in the 110-series rifles, only the Model 340 and the newer Model 25 Walking Varminter in the past couple years. If it's a 110 and chambered in .222 Rem then it's an aftermarket barrel.

    CORRECTION: Savage offered the 112V in .222 Rem from 1975-1978

    They made the 112V in .222.

    Yep, you're right - that's what I get for relying on my memory rather than looking at my cheat-sheet. 112V's were made from 1975-1979, but the .222 Rem was only offered through 1978.
