    HODGDON # 1


    i got a pound of 4831 2 weeks ago,when loading the otherday i found 2 pcs. of wire in the powder. they were 3.25 long and .006 dia. i e-mailed hodgdon at 2 pm.by 2:20 i got a call from a guy named dave cambell,asked me to send them to him. he said he would take care of me,UPS dropped off a box friday ,i figured a hat,but i found a pound of 4831.     Burning rate is TERRIBLY slow ;D
    I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

    Yep, it's slow, but it's also the most accurate powder I've tried in 3 calibers I load for - .243 Win, 260 Rem and 300 WSM......., and seems to be pretty consistent lot to lot - H4831sc, that is.

    Elkbane, I think he was talking about the wire's burn rate...

    H4831sc works great for me in my 6.5x284, and I'll be trying it next in my 243, after this last batch of IMR 4350 test rounds gets tried.

    I cant say I have seen that, but one time I found a "Super sized" grain, in some H4895. it was about the size of a 50 cent piece, and just laid in my powder measurer. I took and threw it out, never thought to call them.
