    338-06 Barrel

Looking for a 338-06 barrel for my 110. While there are newer cartridges that will do what this does, this one has been on my bucket list for a long time.

Are there any other options besides Shaw? Nothing wrong with them, just curious if there are any other options.

Send Jim "Water Pipe" Apache an email. (Apache Gun Works and Plumbing Supply)
    He'll hook you up.

In fact, I've been wanting to build one in that caliber as well.

Jim is a good guy. He made me a 338-06 barrel 6 months or so ago and it works great. No issues at all. Good shooting barrel and cartridge IMO.

I had Devin at sinarms build me one. I over spec'd it so it is a wee bit heavy but it shoots great.

A little over 2800 with 62 gr RL17 (drop tube)and the Nosler 210 Partition. 24" barrel. (regular 338-06, add about 50-100 fps for the AI)
IMO, the 210 Partition or 200 Kodiak were made for the 338-06

62gr of powder in a 30.06 case with the neck stretched?

I'm gonna have to go back to work to afford more powder. The 300WM I just put together is about put a serious dent in my powder stash.

    Thanks for the input.
I think I'll still build one. It's only money & I still haven't found a way to take it with me so I'm spending the kids inheritance on toys.

The RL17 is a little bulky for that but works with a drop tube and a little compression (barely )
The QL capacity for the 338-06 is around 60.9 gr I think so it is a bit full.
I'm going to try some CFE223 in it as it is 95% fill and only gives up around 50 fps although the RL17 shoots well.
