    CHANGING ACTION MAGAZINE INLET

Considering that all - LONG ACTIONS - are the same dimension. When changing from a Winchester magnum , ( 300 win. mag. ), to a Remington magnum, ( 300 RUM ) . How much longer is the magazine feed port cutout in the bottom of the action ?

About .220". I would not cut one out unless you have the magazine there to go by.

Sharpshooter, Thanks for the reply. I don't have any way of machining one out. I was curious as to whether or not using a long action and cutting the magazine port out -is how the edge rifles are built, now that Savage no longer makes the RUM CAL. rifles. Thanks
